About Me - Stephen Checker
Born & raised in Philadelphia, Pa, I attended Carnegie Mellon University following high school. It was during that time that I explored an interest in Math/Science, finishing with degrees in Mathematics (Operations Research) and Industrial Management. As an energetic, math/tech guy, the Supply Chain Software consulting world was a natural fit - leading clients in system design & implementation.
After several years, and 1000’s of Skymiles later, I had the opportunity to revisit an earlier joy of mine, working with and coaching students in Math & Science at the Lovett School & Pace Academy. Doing something I loved, and making a difference in the path of a child’s school journey ultimately revealed to be a true passion and calling. One that I now embrace as a meaningful and rewarding endeavor with my own two 7 year old twin daughters.
In my free time I cherish the adventure of parenting young(er) kids with my wife Lindsey. Together as a family, we enjoy travel, reading, cooking, taking music lessons (piano & ukulele), hiking, watching movies, jogging, and being closely involved with our kids’ school (Morningside Elementary) experiences daily.
It is in these formative years that we can truly show our kids how important school is by making learning an ongoing integral part of our family culture. What we make time and energy for in our lives, and how we show up for it, is our greatest gift to give.
